This 70 year old cotton Rug ( durrie) has dragnet in the centre with a vine pattern on each side which was woven by my paternal grandmother. She prepared it for her dowry.

Condition : Unused but it has creases.
- ABOUT RUGS
The cultural word for rugs in punjab is “durries”. These rugs were hand-woven by women as part of their dowries more than 30 years ago.People in those times did everything from plucking cotton and making a thread by using a spinning wheel to weave it. Each durrie took roughly a month to finish. These durries not only radiate the rich heritage culture of Punjab but also give an insight into durries being an important part of the dowry system.
